Embracing the idea of exclusively supporting Fair & Sustainable Initiatives may seem daunting, but it’s truly an inspiring concept.

The brave and hardworking individuals who gather our wild medicinal and aromatic resources from around the world are the most direct way for us to safeguard these precious natural treasures, while also supporting the livelihoods and needs of traditional harvesters.

When it comes to collecting frankincense, labdanum, myrrh, mastic and many other traditional wild harvests through a sustainable and fair initiatives, those who have been doing it for generations are the most knowledgeable and skilled individuals to care for these fragrant and medicinal resources. Sadly, until now, these resources have been poorly managed, and as a result, they are quickly dwindling all over the world.

By choosing to purchase from traditional harvesters, we are contributing to a responsible and sustainable model of supply and demand. This ensures that these natural treasures will continue to flourish for decades to come. Let’s come together to support these incredible individuals and preserve the beauty and benefits of our planet’s natural resources. but the foundation of our existence. Let us embrace their legacy and continue the journey towards a brighter tomorrow.

Fair Sustainable Initiatives of Celestial Thyme

how we do our part…

1. Ethical sourcing: We incorporate fair trade principles and source materials from suppliers that have been certified as ethically and sustainably managed.

2. Organic farming: We use organic farming methods to grow plants used in incense production, which reduces the use of chemicals and pesticides and supports committed traditional farmers and harvesting communities.

3. Reforestation: We plant fruit trees and bush tuckers to offset the impact of incense production on forests and habitats.

4. Carbon offsetting: We offset the carbon emissions produced during production through investment in renewable energy sources, and we use handcrafted recycled paper packaging. Starting in 2024, we will also be changing our packaging to paper and recycled glass made in-house in collaboration with Upcycled Glassware.

5. Community development: We support local communities and entrepreneurs by sourcing materials and labor locally and investing in community development projects.

6. Recycling & reducing waste: We implement recycling programs and reduce packaging waste to minimise the environmental impact of incense production.

7. Transparency & traceability: We are transparent about sourcing, production methods, and environmental impact, and we provide traceability information for customers.
