THE POWER OF OUR INTENTION;
IS IT MISSING FROM YOUR MEDICINAL CABINET?
WE OFTEN HEAR A PARTICULAR QUESTION IN HERBALISM.
Essentially, what herbalists are always trying to find out is: “How can we create the most powerful herbal medicine?” “How does the power of our intention affect the therapeutic value? “
As plant gatherers and preparers do need to know how to make effective, potent remedies that work but also preserve the medicinal virtues of a whole plant. And these questions do get us here – sometimes the biggest part can be overlooked … is the power of our intention.
The power of our intention, the effectiveness of energetics isn’t commonly discussed in herbalism, unless we are locating the roots of Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic or Planetary Botanicals. We see this forceful potent charge as such an important and integral part of preparing any botanicals. It can really make your remedies more potent than any other available.
But how do we do this? And how does it have an effect as such?
We would like to share here a couple of different ways we can get ourselves into a good internal state that’s helpful to us and helps us to make remedies with the best intention possible.
1. PATH TO THE POWER OF OUR POSITIVE INTENTION
The main goal being is, that we are preserving the life force of the plant, the wholeness of the plant, its body, it’s intelligence, it’s spirit, and it’s soul, so that it will heal the whole person. It’ll rejuvenate our physical being, our psychological and emotional being, even more on a spiritual level as well.
It’s not common that the power of our intention is discussed in standard herbal preparation, but it’s an important part that’s discussed quite openly in the alchemical tradition. They say in alchemy that “it is the intention and the state of consciousness of the operator, the person working in the laboratory context, that has a very powerful influence on the medicine that we are preparing.”
So we thought we’d share with you the importance of our intention and the state of our mind and our heart when we are preparing plant medicine. Combining not just the outside laboratory dynamics of alchemy but also bringing into the inner alchemy; our internal spiritual work and the way that we’re able to move these energies that we’re working with.
2. LIFE FORCE OF ( THE POWER OF ) OUR POSITIVE INTENTIONS
Firstly the priority is that we ourselves have our own direct relation to the archetypal forces of nature.
Not only working with the 7 planets: sun, moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury. Through Mercury and Venus and Mars, we can have a connection to Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus.
Once we breath and work with botanicals the goal is for ourselves to be fairly light and simply blank to perceive their energetics. The mind and the heart being pure and cleansed. We do understand it is a challenge -today especially -, as the external force is impenetrable, but if we create our own stable axis through meditation, self reflection and benefiting from all nature’s gifts everything is possible.
Our temple, so to speak. Our sacred space where our thoughts are free of the external noise allowing deep breathing where everything possible. If you have not found this sacred space of yours yet, the only thing that hold you away is your own mind. Self-care rituals are here to slow your thinking and clear away from worries.
We can be present, we can be free, we can be now. We are safe.
Once we are in the now we can feel our heartbeat and its melody. There are ways that we can become a vehicle through the external force and we can allow that energy to be either constructive through our intentions or destructive (more on that below). This is how we prepare each of every Celestial Thyme incense ritual. We are all a bridge between the above and below.
For example we harvest St. John’s wort only on Sunday during sunny times by doing so we are bringing the solar influence into its energetics. More in depth achieving a functioning approach is through meditation; not attaching ourselves to our egos through reflection, rather just seeing them as an external vehicle – just like with all our wildcrafted botanicals during preparation they do not get affected by our energies – understanding our inner forces will provide a natural transition to everything around us.
Hence we have just got to flip all this info on it head and developed our wellbeing quiz that will lead you through the 9 cycles of your path through your own serpent journey.(ups and downs?!)
WHAT IS THE 9 CYCLES OF LIFE – OUR TRADITIONAL ENERGY COMPASS & THE POWER OF OUR INTENTION?
What we have just covered here might be a bit too out there. Let’s just stop here for a second.
When we actually remove the idea that our race is so modern today we can surely appreciate the knowledge of ancient cultures of the golden ages, where for example Ayurveda or Chinese Traditional Medicine originates from. (however today everything has changed… without the above mentioned understanding no herbalist or healer can be of assistance)
The past 100 years or so so much changed in the field of healing remedies demolishing the power of our intention. You will find Charlene and Ty’s research truly inspiring. But for now let’s see where the 9 cycles of life originates from.
In the Chinese tradition Feng Shui is rooted in understanding the relationship of nature and how it effects our lives. The 5 elements Fire, Earth, Wood, Metal and Water are used to define the various energies in Feng Shui. Feng Shui supports its practice on the idea that everything in the universe is alive and filled with energy or Qi. Qi is universal energy and permeates everything on the planet. Qi gives us life force and is the energy that flows through our living environment as well.
The way the energy flows can be either negative or positive depending on how the elements are utilised and nonetheless to mention the power of our intention. Feng Shui sets out to correct any negative or blocked energy to enable positive one to prevail through what is referred to as a “Feng Shui Cure”, – with Celestial Thyme you will achieve this cure with the right incense according your quiz result.
The elements have what are called cycles. Cycles are how the elements interact with one another. Elements can have productive or destructive cycles. When they support or nurture each other’s energy it is considered positive or productive for creating good energy flow.
Celestial Thyme applies this concept of creating positive energy and blocking negative energy by understanding ourselves inside out. When our environment is harmonious and the energy flows properly within ourselves as well in our home it affects everything around us. Unfortunately today we must fine tune our inner and outer state, as inharmonious energy is everywhere (remember the concept of what is inside is out and vice versa – and how much frustration, anger and fear all around us) which means that cleansing the destructive energy that permeates one’s environment needs to take a primary spot of our daily ritual. We feel it, when we return home that we might be full of negativity or feeling oddly dense emotions. We have picked up others heaviness, that is much more serious than we would have thought. (unfortunately we don’t learn about this in elementary school)
IN A CONSTRUCTIVE CYCLE (let’s focus only on the productive)
Water helps Wood (water helps plants and trees to grow)
Wood helps Fire ( Wood helps Fire to Burn)
Fire produces Earth(Dust)
Earth helps Metal(minerals) form
Metal can hold Water
CONCLUSION
Essentially, it is all about an energy map of ourselves. It has directions associated with given areas of your life. The idea is that if you use this map to organise your external, as well as internal self according to those various areas of your life. Then the energy will flow in a beneficial direction and allow you to be peaceful, fulfilled, and successful.
9 CYCLES
1.Career/ Path/ Tao
2.Relationship /Love/ Marriage
3.Health/ Respect/ Family
4.Abundance/Wealth/Money
5.Health/ Chi/ You
6.Helpful People/Travel/ Compassion
7.Children/Art/Creation
8.Study/Spirituality/Openess
9.Wellbeing/Fame/Recognition
So we have combined Ayurvedic, Planetary and Chinese energies with all our Celestial Thyme rituals by understanding the botanicals vibration and vision and their felt sensation through the body, and than becoming a vehicle for that energy to work through is in a transformational form.
This is how we create the importance of our intention and bringing our emotional and intellectual centre in harmony with incense. And when harmony is within, it is everywhere. Happy Incense!
